Video Killed the Radio Star

While I was on Twitter today, a fellow Tweeter, Twit, Guy who tweets, (whatever we're called) Dave Blankenship or @davorado (for those who tweet), posted this video out of nowhere! With a warning, "It will get stuck in your head." He was right. :)

It's Video Killed the Radio Star. This is from the Wikipedia page:

""Video Killed the Radio Star" is a song by the British synthpop group The Buggles, released in 1979. It celebrates the golden days of radio, describing a singer whose career is cut short by television. The song topped several music charts and has been covered by many recording artists. It was the first music video shown on MTV in North America and has been widely parodied in popular media."

I enjoyed it so much, I posted it here. Sorry for the stuck song! :)

Hubble Deep Field: The Most Imp. Image Ever Taken

This is a very neat film I found on YouTube today. It's about the Hubble Deep Field from the Hubble Space Telescope. It's a Space Telescope that takes some very cool pictures. This is from the Wikipedia page:

"The Hubble Deep Field (HDF) is an image of a small region in the constellation Ursa Major, constructed from a series of observations by the Hubble Space Telescope. It covers an area 2.5 arcminutes across, two parts in a million of the whole sky, which is equivalent in angular size to a 65 mm tennis ball at a distance of 100 metres. The image was assembled from 342 separate exposures taken with the Space Telescope's Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 over ten consecutive days between December 18 and December 28, 1995."

Very cool!

Disturbing Strokes featured on Attack Of The Show

I saw this video on Attack of the Show. It comes from YouTube user: MontyPropps. He took out the classic theme from Diff'rent Strokes and replaced it with creepy music. See how the entire video is changed. Just goes to show how music can change the scene completely!

We had a great Easter visiting my folks. They live near Atlantic City, which is not too far from us. About an hour and 30 minute drive.

All the napkins were set, just so.

We all had a wedge of lettuce.

The turkey breast was cooked just right!

Honeydew melon with prosciutto.

Roasted Potatoes.

Here's the turkey with stuffing & asparagus.

'Star Wars (John Williams Is The Man)' - an a cappella tribute

Here is a neat video that I found today. It comes from YouTube user: ApprenticeA. I'm a big fan of John Williams' work. These guys have found a great way to pay tribute to some of his biggest works! Using all things Star Wars of course. Bravo!!

Here is his official video description:

"JOHN WILLIAMS IS THE MAN! A Star Wars-themed four-part a cappella musical tribute.Performed by Corey Vidal (vocals by Moosebutter)"

The Smoking Gun: Mug shot roundup

Mug shot roundup: From pinstripes to jail stripes.

I know that I've been heavy on the sci-fi posts lately. So here's a post from The Smoking Gun. It's the their newest batch of pictures. Here is the official copy:

"APRIL 3--It seems appropriate that this mug shot roundup kicks off with a deeply misguided baseball fan/perp, especially since this week has seen a) a New York Yankees pitcher take a DUI plea, and b) the opening of the odious team's Bronx palace. As for the other booking photos, a few notes: 1) While hair picks are usually seized by police, the 29-year-old Idaho woman on page #5 was allowed to keep hers firmly in place; 2) Busted Monday for failing to appear in court on a disorderly conduct charge, the 19-year-old Floridian on page #6 clearly needs etiquette lessons; and 3) The Texas man, 25, on page #11 was arrested for speeding, not hitting below the belt in a prizefight. (16 pages) "

I like the expression on #13's face. :)

Star Wars - Movie Reviews: Part 1

Here is a great review that I found on YouTube. Just want to point out, I DID NOT MAKE THIS MOVIE! I always try to give credit where it's due. This one is from YouTube User: JamesNintendoNerd. Here is his description of his film:

"A review of the original Star Wars Trilogy (episodes 4-6) describing why I think they have such an everlasting appeal. Stay tuned for Part 2 which will give my opinions of the special editions and prequel trilogy. See more movie reviews here: http://www.cinemassacre.com/new/?page_id=23"

James goes into his own personal history of the Star Wars films. He also points out lots of references about other films regarding Star Wars. It is a very well made fan film. A must see for any true fan. I will keep an eye out for his next review and post it right away.

Kill Vader - CG Star Wars / Kill Bill Parody

I know I said just one more. I lied. This one asked the question: what if Quentin Tarantino directed Star Wars in the style of Kill Bill?

Answer: "Impressive. Most Impressive."

Star Wars: Retold (by someone who hasn't seen it)

I know I've been heavy with Star Wars & Star Trek stuff yesterday, but just one more. I promise it's funny!

Star Trek as The Love Boat

Ok, I really thought I was done with these today, but then I saw this last video. I had to post it. It's Star Trek: TNG with not the Dallas theme, but the theme to the Love Boat!!

First, the 'guest stars' are really a who's who of science fiction. With lots of new and old faces. Also, the clips and effects that are used really fit again! And last, but not least, it's funny as hell! This is one of my favorites tonight!

Star Trek Voyager w/Dallas Theme

The Dallas song was 1st on Star Wars, then Star Trek: TNG & now Star Trek: Voyager! This one is just as good. My only complaint is that they should have used the actors names. Other than that, it's not bad. Enjoy!

Star Trek: The Next Generation / Dallas opening theme

It would not be fair to have the Dallas Theme for Star Wars & not Star Trek. So here it is!

Star Wars / Dallas opening

Ok, one more mash-up. Once again I could not resist! This time it's Star Wars set to the Theme to Dallas!! The funny thing is, it fits. Almost like it was done on purpose! I want every show ever made re-cut to the Dallas theme song. Right now!! I'll wait.

Mace Windu Strikes Back!

Here's another Star Wars & Pulp Fiction mash-up. I think I see a new trend!

Mace Windu Vs Palpatine - How It Should Have Been

This is very short, but very funny. It combines two of my favorite movies: Star Wars & Pulp Fiction. I have to admit, it made me laugh. :)
