This is the one video that made me laugh out loud from Saturday Night Live last night. The host was Jon Hamm and the music guest was Michael Buble.
Not sure who thought of putting them both in a skit, but it was a good idea!
Mmmmm..... Bubbly Ham! :)

Funny Hitler videos?
I have recently found several videos online about Hitler. These are not endorsing him or his evil deeds, (nor to I). But these videos are meant to be funny. They take footage from the 2004 movie Downfall and change the subtitles. Some of the videos are re-edited with other footage.
Since only the subtitles need to be changed, these videos can be made really quickly. For example. Hitler responds to the iPad. The Apple press conference was yesterday! And the video is out today!
Here is a good history of the videos from Wikipedia.
Thanks to YouTube and other video sites, parodic clips from the 2004 film Downfall have proliferated internationally.[8] They are subtitled with references to Hitler getting angry about Australian Rules Football, Windows Vista, online gaming, gridiron football, Xbox Live, the downfall of Morris Iemma, the Vancouver Canucks signing of Mats Sundin, Malcolm Turnbull and other events. The phenomenon started in English but has spread to other languages including Dutch, Spanish,Portuguese, Malaysian, Bulgarian (It was used to ridicule Bulgarian president Georgi Parvanov for being a State Security agent during the communist dictatorship and for being a poacher[9]), Romanian (for the 2009 presidential election), Croatian (comments about frequent affairs in the government). The most frequently used clip is the scene where Hitler receives news of the advancing Red Army vastly outnumbering the forces commanded by Felix Steiner. However, other clips from Downfall are beginning to appear with subtitles. Some of the parodies turn on surrealism and intentional anachronisms to make a comment on present day subjects, especially the everyday prevalance of failures of computer and internet resources, while other parodies centre more on humorously interpreting events in the bunker on April May 1945. A further driver of the jokes would be collective memories of the overall poor standards of subtitling and dubbing internationally in cinema during the mid twentieth century, especially with low budget films such as the sword and sandal genre or eastern martial arts movies, including poor synchonisation and comically inaccurate translations.
Here are some of my favorites. But the list of them on YouTube seems endless. :)

New Trailer - MacGruber
Regular readers know I am a fan of Saturday Night Live. Here is the next film based on one of their skits. MacGruber! The sketch is a parody of the 1985-1992 adventure series MacGyver.
Here is the plot from Wikipedia:
Only one American hero has earned the rank of Green Beret, Navy SEAL, and Army Ranger. Just one operative has been awarded 16 Purple Hearts, three Congressional Medals of Honor and seven Presidential Medals of Bravery. And only one guy is man enough to still sport a mullet... MacGruber.
In the 10 years since his fiancée was killed, special op MacGruber (Will Forte) has sworn a life of fighting crime with his bare hands. But when he learns that his country needs him to find a nuclear warhead that's been stolen by his sworn enemy, Dieter Von Cunth (Val Kilmer), MacGruber figures he's the only one tough enough for the job.
Assembling an elite team of experts—Lt. Dixon Piper (Ryan Phillippe) and Vicki St. Elmo (Kristen Wiig)—MacGruber will navigate an army of assassins to hunt down Cunth and bring him to justice. His methods may be unorthodox; his crime scenes may get messy; but if you want the world saved right, you call in MacGruber.
At first, I thought it sounds silly. But after seeing the trailer, it looks pretty good! :)

Skynet Symphonic
This is one of the best videos that I have ever seen online! Everything you hear in this video is taken from 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day'. Rock on!! :)
The YouTube user is Fagottron. Here is his description:
Comprising nothing but small sounds recorded from the James Cameron masterpiece 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day', 'Skynet Symphonic' is my tribute to one of the greatest action features of all time! Each section is composed entirely of sounds from a major scene in the film. For example, the Terminator pounding on the fire escape door is used as a kick drum. Bones breaking play the role of a snare. Electrical disturbance acts as a crash cymbal. Turn up your cones and enjoy!

'Hot Tub Time Machine' Trailer
This is one of those movies that sounds fake. But I assure you it's real. These four guys take a dip in the hot tub in 2010 and wake up in 1986!
The Plot from Wikipedia:
HOT TUB TIME MACHINE follows a group of best friends who’ve become bored with their adult lives: Adam (John Cusack) has been dumped by his girlfriend; Lou (Rob Corddry) is a party guy who can’t find the party; Nick’s (Craig Robinson) wife controls his every move; and video game-obsessed Jacob (Clark Duke) won’t leave his basement. After a crazy night of drinking in a ski resort hot tub, the men wake up, heads pounding, in the year 1986. This is their chance to kick some past and change their futures – one will find a new love life, one will learn to stand up for himself with the ladies, one will find his mojo, and one will make sure he still exists!
I give you the Hot Tub Time Machine!

A Bad Day.
I'm going to apologize in advance for this long and rambling blog post. I know not my usual fair, but felt like I had to get this out. Thanks in advance for your indulgence...
Today was a very bad day at work. I know that everyone has them from time to time. But it always seems worse when it's happening to you.
It's part of life. When your school is done, you go out into the world and get a "real" job. And you do the best you can. You don't ask why, you try not to complain (too much), but you overall get the job done.
It has been building for sometime and today was the tipping point. I cannot go into specifics of what happened today. (I have recently found out that my employer has been monitoring my "online" life.) But it's safe to say, that I have made mistakes and they have caught up to me.
Everyone makes mistakes. It's part of being human. You learn from them and move on. You try very hard to be the best employee that you can be. But sometimes that's not enough. Sometimes your mistakes become to frequent. Eventually, they will overshadow you. Sometimes it's a bad combination of unrelated factors. What works in the past is not the same that will work in the future.
Sometimes when you get THE bad day to end all bad days there is nothing that you can do. You must sit there and take your punishment. If the punishment is bad enough, it will have far reaching effects. Effects that you couldn't even imagine. It could effect your income and therefor your comfort of living. It could effect your future. Literally taking 2 steps back from where you where. (You can see where I am going with this...)
At first I was mad. Mad at myself for letting things get this out of hand. But after that passes, I just felt numb. But you cannot go back. You can only go forward. So I did what I could to make the best of a bad situation. I'll let you know how it turns out.
But as I sit here and type my tale of woe. My "Ultimate bad day". I'm watching the news and seeing the horror of the earthquake in Haiti. My bad day looks laughable by comparison. I still have a roof over my head, food on the table and family and friends to lean on. 100,000 others in Haiti are not so lucky. It was an odd juxtaposition. It helped to put things in perspective. Made me focus on what's important.
Where do I go from here? I don't know. For now, I will have to stay put and swallow some bitter pills. But from there? The future is limitless.
I guess what I'm trying to say is from time to time you have to take your lumps. But get up and keep going. To quote my favorite Star Trek episode, Tapestry, "If you want to get ahead, you have to take chances, stand out in the crowd, get noticed." Don't be afraid to take chances. But learn from your mistakes. "You must unlearn what you have learned." To quote Star Wars.
Be careful what you put online. You never know who is watching.....

Last night Charles Barkley was the host of Saturday Night Live. Anyone who is a movie buff will get a kick out of this skit. :)
Repo Men Trailer
For a Price, any organ in your body can be replaced. But it can also be repossessed.
I saw this trailer today and had to post it. The movie takes place in the future. Some of your vital organs fail. So you get mechanical replacements that cost a lot of money. What if you can't pay the bills? They send out the Repo Men to reclaim the products. But what if the best repo guy became the next target? We'll have to wait to see... :)
